Marnie Katzman is Executive Director of the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport, a non-profit organization that has been serving individual artists, cultural organizations, and the general public since 1974.

Help support Chris in his goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 for this important fundraiser (click here for details).  All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible!

Marnie began working at the Arts Council in a part-time capacity as the coordinator of a state-funded program that awards cultural grants throughout Nassau County. Three years later she was promoted to Assistant Director, and two and a half years later she was once again promoted to Executive Director, a position she has held since April 1998. While Executive Director, she has increased the Arts Council’s focus on providing access to the arts for young people, offered career development opportunities for the arts community, and encouraged the public to avail themselves of the quality cultural programming that Long Island has to offer.

In addition to her work at the Arts Council, Marnie is Treasurer of the Long Island Ballet Competition and actively involved in the Barnard College Alumnae Association where she serves on The Barnard Fund Committee to raise unrestricted funds for the College.

Marnie has worked as an Adjunct Professor of Arts Management at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University and served as Co-President of the Long Island Dance Consortium. Previously, she performed with the Eglevsky Ballet Company, and worked as a freelance writer at L&M Publications in Merrick and in the Public Relations Department at Carnegie Hall.
