Gloria is a well-known leader and advocate in Long Island’s Hispanic community. She has held posts at the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island, the Community Development Corporation of Long Island, Nassau County C.A.S.A., the Suffolk County Legislature, Medialink Worldwide Inc., among others. Her community involvement include being the Co-Chair of the Awards Committee for the Nassau County Commission of Human Right’s Dr. Martin Luther King Birthday Celebration Committee, Chair of the Boy Scouts of America, Theodore Roosevelt Council’s Hispanic Community Leader Awards Luncheon for the past 3 years and a proud member of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Hispanic Latino Task Force Advisory Committee. She is also the new chair of the Nassau County Health Department’s Perinatal Consortium’s Advocacy Committee. Her volunteer work has been recognized by various community, faith-based and government entities as she has received several awards, proclamations and certificates of recognition thanking Gloria for her efforts in making the Long Island community a better place to live. Ms. Baca holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Journalism from the New York Institute of Technology. Ms. Baca resides in Hicksville and is the proud mother single mother of ten-year-old Isabella Victoria Escorza. Proceeds support the John J. Byrne Community Center of Uniondale's programs and services for the children and families of the region! The inaugural OUTSTANDING ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH AWARDS COCKTAIL RECEPTION took place on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 6pm to 8pm, at The Omni, 333 Earle Ovington Boulevard, Uniondale. Hosted by Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn, and Terrana LLP.
