CHRISTOPHER "Chris" MURRAY, ESQ., RUSKIN MOSCOU FALTISCHEK P.C. and President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, has been named one of the top 25 individuals to receive the first-ever OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH AWARD for outstanding civic and community support!  Help support Chris in his goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 for this important fundraiser (click here for details).  All donations are 100 percent tax-deductible!

Proceeds support the John J. Byrne Community Center of Uniondale's programs and services for the children and families of the region!  

Chris Murray is a partner in the Litigation Department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek and Chair of the Environmental practice group. Mr. Murray has over twenty years of experience in all aspects of complex commercial, environmental, insurance, employment, civil rights and trademark litigation.

Mr. Murray's practice includes jury and non-jury trials in federal and state court, as well as arbitration proceedings and administrative hearings. He has numerous reported federal and state appellate level decisions involving real estate disputes, breach of contract claims, employment discrimination, Article 78 proceedings and partnership dissolutions. Mr. Murray has presented programs before the Nassau County Bar Association and the Nassau County Planning Federation on land use litigation, employment practices and civil rights.

Mr. Murray's experience includes litigation and administrative hearings involving a variety of environmental issues including SEQRA compliance, violations of New York and Federal law concerning the disposal of hazardous waste; challenges to the denial of wetland permits, and CERCLA liability.  Mr. Murray has also counseled clients on complying with environmental laws and regulations in connection with real estate transactions and the acquiring of businesses.

Currently Mr. Murray is the President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, the umbrella organization for over forty local chambers of commerce in Nassau County, representing more than 6,000 small business. He also serves on the Board of a number of charities and not-for-profit organizations including The Center for Developmental Disabilities, the Nassau County Mental Health Association and the Garden City Chamber Foundation. Mr. Murray is a past President of the Nassau Chapter of the NYCLU and serves on the New York State Board for that organization. Mr. Murray also served on the Town of North Hempstead Board of Zoning and Appeals.

The inaugural OUTSTANDING ADVOCATES FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH AWARDS COCKTAIL RECEPTION took place on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at The Omni, 333 Earle Ovington Boulevard, Uniondale.  Hosted by Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn, and Terrana LLP.
